Las Vegas & Grand Canyon were pretty much on top our list as we landed in United States few months ago. It did not took us to long to plan a trip on one of the long weekends and with both places close to each other, we decide to combine them in a single trip.
Day One started pretty late as we arrived in Las Vegas and checked into our hotel – Flamingo Las Vegas by 1700 hrs and it was getting dark already. We weren’t complaining though as this is when the city comes to life – from buzzing street lights & glowing hotels to the amazing Bellagio fountain & magnificent Mirage Volcano show! Right upto midnight on Day One as well as the complete Day Two, all we did was roam on the famous ‘Strip’ of Las Vegas. That was itself a lifetime experience on its own! Here are some of the images we managed to capture while exploring the famous strip 🙂
Day Three was all about the famous Grand Canyon. As we were short on time, we decided to do a day tour with Grand Canyon tours. Best part about these guys is that they take small groups, maximum of 8 folks so its more of a personalised experience. The trip started as early as 0700 hrs with 1st stop at the famous ‘Welcome to Las Vegas‘ sign following with stops at the amazing Hoover Dam and the historic Route 66.
We arrived at the South Rim of Grand Canyon just after noon and spend the next 4 hours exploring the various viewpoints at the Canyon. We just got lucky with the weather as it had snowed heavily the previous day but was sunny on the day of our visit, which meant we got to see a lot of snow as well as clear blue skies! & yes, this was for the 1st time we saw so much of snow 😀
Finally we were dropped back to our hotel by 2000 hrs. We spent some more time exploring the Las Vegas strip as had our return flight on the next day.
The Canyon is so beautiful and huge that it definitely deserved at-least two full days, and so does Las Vegas as we missed out visiting the famous Las Vegas Downtown. Anyone planning a visit, will suggest to plan of trip of at-least 2N/3D at Las Vegas & 1N/2D at Grand Canyon. It was a completely jam packed trip for us and we surely enjoyed every bit of it and would probably visit the places again… for surely the amazing Grand Canyon.
Signing off until next time, ciao 🙂
